The Black Box EME1Y1-015 is a door-contact sensor that ties directly into the Black Box Environmental Monitoring System Hub, giving you a straightforward way to see whether a door or secured panel is open or closed from anywhere on the network.

Power comes straight from the hub, so you do not have to find an outlet or deploy a separate power supply. Installation stays clean, and you can focus on routing the cable exactly where it needs to go.

An internal open or closed contact switch reports normal or alarm status in real time. If someone cuts or unplugs the line, the hub generates a disconnect alarm, letting you know the sensor itself has been tampered with.

When a single door is only the start of your coverage needs, you can wire multiple EME1Y1-015 units in series on the same port. The design allows an unlimited chain, and you can run cable up to 1000 feet, which is useful for rows of racks, multiple rooms, or large warehouses.

The sensor continues to work in temperatures from -40 to +185°F, so it fits data centers, outdoor telecom shelters, industrial plants, or any space where conditions swing between extreme cold and heat.

Because the hub presents SNMP OID information, status updates feed directly into standard network management software. You can see door events in the same dashboard where you already monitor servers, switches, and power devices.
